About Us
What is Twayne Safe Haven?

Twayne Safe Haven is a youth mental health and wellbeing community built around storytelling, emotional support, and personal growth. We create safe spaces where young people can share their experiences, build meaningful connections, and develop confidence in who they are.

Founded in 2015, we have been supporting young people for over 11 years through community activities, storytelling initiatives, and programs across Nigeria.
How long has Twayne Safe Haven existed?

Twayne Safe Haven was founded in 2015 and has been supporting young people through community activities, storytelling initiatives, and events for over 11 years. What started as an informal safe space has grown into a structured community with documented programs and measurable impact.

Is TSH a mental health service?

Twayne Safe Haven is a community support space, not a clinical mental health service. We provide peer connection, storytelling, and safe spaces for expression and growth.

If a participant needs professional mental health support, we do our best to guide them toward appropriate resources. Our programs are designed to complement, not replace, professional care.

Joining & Programs
Who can join?

Our community is open to young people who are looking for a supportive environment to grow, connect, and express themselves. You do not need any particular background or experience to join.

You simply need to be interested in personal growth, storytelling, and genuine human connection.
Is it free to join?

Yes. Most of our community spaces and activities are free to participate in. Some specific programs or events may have eligibility requirements or limited spaces, but joining our general community is always free.

Where are your programs held?

We run both online and in-person programs. In-person activities are primarily based in Nigeria, with Lagos as our main hub. Online sessions are open to participants from different locations across Nigeria and beyond.

What happens during TSH programs?

Programs typically include guided wellbeing discussions, peer support circles, storytelling and reflection activities, and community connection experiences. Everything is designed to be welcoming, non-judgmental, and focused on growth.

Example topics covered include self-confidence, identity, navigating stress, relationships, emotional awareness, and personal growth.
